Homeowner Housing Rehabitation

HALL COUNTY HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAM

The Housing Rehabilitation Program is funded through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Community Home Investment Program (CHIP) and is administered by Home Development Resources, Inc.  The program is designed to help low/moderate income Hall County homeowners bring their home up to current State and local housing codes or make it handicap accessible.  The home must be
owner occupied.

CHIP loans through the program are (0%) zero interest and forgiven 20% each year over five years.  A Deed to Secure Debt is recorded against the property for five years.

The minimum CHIP loan amount is $1,000.00 with a maximum of $14,999.00.  Owner must pay a minimum of 30% of the cost of the repairs or the entire amount over $14,999.00.

Local financial institutions may fund  a portion of the rehabilitation loan, if the homeowner is eligible, using current interest rates.

These institutions may help homeowners consolidate existing debt and help make monthly payments affordable.

The loan to value ratio on the property,  including the CHIP loan cannot exceed 100% of the after rehabilitation appraised value.

Owner occupied single family homes of any size are eligible.  The repairs are limited to bringing the property up to  code or making the property handicap accessible.

Funds available at this time are designated for Black Drive, Cooley Drive or inside the city limits of Oakwood and Flowery Branch!!!

Call Home Development Resources, Inc. to see if you qualify.
